Lamont holds a Master of Social Work from University of Alabama. He has a genuine ability to connect with clients because he understands the uncertainty and anxiety an unexpected diagnosis can have on life. At the age of 19 Lamont  was diagnosed with osteosarcoma and had to have a leg amputated. His approach to therapy involves focusing on Family-Centered techniques and Play Therapy  to help clients get pass their struggles and see their strengths and options more clearly. During his leisure time, Lamont writes poetry.
